The Song that Defined Me

Years after it was written for Getaway Car, Galaxyboi is finally being released as the first single of the new year! 

This is the song that defined my artistic identity for years. Sombre and dripping in space metaphors, the emotional ballad was a staple of every live performance I did, as well as the beating heart of some of the best writing I'd ever done. Though it was initially intended to be a barebones piano and vocal track back in 2021, the new 2026 version is all spaced out, fully orchestrated, synthed, effected, and filtered. Though, keeping with the original spirit, at the core is still a simple melody plucked out on a Bechstein. And as a treat to myself, I've transformed the recorded audio of some of my favorite memories, my greatest loves and losses, as well as some never before shared poems, into the soundscape of the newly conceived outro.

Breathe out, breathe in...

NEW SINGLE: 13 months after the release of skeleton papercuts (skpc) and I'm back with the lead single from my forthcoming second record Metropolis! Built from borrowed sounds, corrupted samples, and familiar synths, the song picks up where skpc ended, but with a renewed sense of purpose. Described by one early listener as "somewhere between rolling the widows down to drive fast and scream along, and rolling the windows down to cry out loud," the alt-pop song reflects the tumult of burning through stubborn feelings on dance floor. I hope this track and the record as a whole surprise and excite and liberate you like they did me and my friends. Breathe out, Breathe in, Breathe out, Miss you again, It's all I know how to do :)
